Optimization design of broadband absorber for high optical transparency

A broadband absorber with high optical transparency is proposed and realized using an optimization-designed method. The absorber’s reflection, lossy, dielectric layers are considered for obtaining transparency. First, to maintain microwave absorption, the artificial structures of reflection layer designed on micron scale. Low square resistance achieved simultaneously. Then, considering structure fabrication process [fabricated polyethylene terephthalate (PET)], light transmittance polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) was selected as material layer. permittivity PMMA similar that PET. layer-to-layer reduced, improved. Finally, under same absorption band efficiency, topology lossy optimized increase duty ratio transmittance. Through above-mentioned design, simulated measured results prove more than 90% rate obtained from 4.4 11.5 GHz (89.3%) average reached 80%. verify method’s effectiveness provide technical support transparent absorbers be better applied windows.
